New Seattle Fly Shop

If you haven’t heard already, Dave McCoy, owner of Emerald Water Anglers guide service in Seattle, just opened a new fly shop that goes by the same name, and he hopes to give Seattle anglers a new great option to shop all things fly fishing.

Based in West Seattle, McCoy’s location offers quick access to Puget Sound’s sea run cutthroat trout and Pacific salmon, and a quick out for anglers headed south to the Green or Cowlitz or any of Washington’s other numerous steelhead streams.

I’ve fished with McCoy several times, met him at dive bars many more, and I can tell you he and his staff can find the fish. If you haven’t fished sea-run cutthroat do yourself a favor and book a day on the Sound with McCoy or one of his guides. A great fly fishing experience to be had.

In addition, McCoy has scheduled some cool presentations  for November and beyond so read further and get over to West Seattle  for a visit. Peronally, I’ve got that December 4 women’s meet and great on my radar. “Oh, sorry,” I might say. “Didn’t know it was just for the ladies . . . but since I’m here could I have one of those Kilt Lifters?”

Steelhead
Fall is a great time to be a steelhead angler in the Pacific Northwest. We are now at the peak of our season on many east side steelhead rivers and our westside rivers are seeing their first push of early winter fish. The toughest part about steelhead fishing this time of year is deciding were to go! Grande Ronde, Methow, Deschutes, John Day, Cowlitz, Kalama, Snoqualmie…all good options right now! We are currently guiding steelhead trips on the Methow,CowlitzKalama, and Snoqualmie. We are pre-booking trips for December and January on theSkagitSauk, and Skykomish.
