SIMMS’ Ode To The New Wade-Fisher

It’s not getting any easier to find “fresh” water these days, but the wading angler might have just as good a chance, or better, as someone in a boat. So don’t let your lack of floatation keep you from adventure. In fact, until someone starts hiring helicopter pilots to air-drop boats or rafts into the mountains, those alpine lakes and the rivers that feed out of them, are your own private playground. If you are willing to hike off trail and research remote lakes with the biologists who manage them you can take some great fish. Think, big golden trout, slab cutthroats, and some pretty good brookies. You can have the splake—I’m not really into the hybrid deal. Right now Simms is highlighting their best gear for the hike-in angler. Check out their site and read the press release below. No go get ’em.

The campaign, Think Outside the Boat, highlights gear designed for anglers who live for the hikes that take them off the grid into their favorite pieces of water.

“A large percentage of anglers reach their destination on foot,” says Matt Millette, Simms Sr. Director of Brand Marketing. “We are excited to highlight the benefits of the on foot pursuit and the gear that facilitates such endeavors.”

Partnering with industry leader Vibram® and highlighting Simms’ Vapor Boot featuring Vibram’s Megagrip™ sole technology, the campaign urges anglers to explore their favorite water on foot. Simms will also put an emphasis on other gear and accessories from their vast product line to prepare anglers for the season ahead.

Simms is highlighting excellent destinations around the world by teaming up with renowned fishing guides and anglers. To begin the journey, Simms starts with a featured story based on a recent trip to the nearby Madison River in Montana. The story is live now at SimmsFishing.com.
