Fly Rod & Reel’s Angling Adventures 2013

Just got this one sent to the printer and I love the content that’s in it. If this magazine doesn’t make you dream of place to go and when to do it, check for a pulse. This should be hitting the newsstands in the next few days so keep your eyes open for it. Inside you’ll find pieces on fishing giant char with Spey rods in Nunavut, Canada, floating Oregon’s Owyhee River for smallmouth bass, trying to catch world-record tarpon at Homasassa, Florida, throwing down on mountain whitefish in the Rockies (and how to smoke them), floating underfished rivers in a Watermaster, and fishing in Alaska—by raft, by air, and with a couple of kids in tow. Along with that youcan learn how to sell your flies to a manufacturing company, what Patagonia is doing with their World Trout Initiative, which are the best fly fishing colleges in the U.S., how to make tying tool racks out of deer antlers, how to catch a permit and lose your first wife, and why it’s best to be on the ground wishing you were in the air instead of being in the air wishing you were on the ground. Yes, this one is worth checking out. When you get your hands on it, let me know what you think of it. And let me know what you think of the cover image I selected. Always looking for feedback so I can make the Fly Rod & Reel your choice at the newsstand. Thanks.

Another one hits the newsstands—Angling Adventures 2013 should give you lots of incentive to travel and fly fish. Make this the year you just do it.
